The Rockies have placed Josh Fogg on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left groin.  In 10 games (9 starts) so far this season, he is 1-5 with a 4.53 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP.  Fogg has thrown 53.2 innings and he has allowed 61 hits, walked 22 batters and whiffed 33.  The Rockies haven’t decided who they are going to replace Fogg with yet.

Troy Tulowitzki playing a decent shortstop for the Colorado Rockies

Blogged under Front Page, Playing Well, Bloglockers by chinmusic on Sunday 27 May 2007 at 8:31 pm

The Rockies were looking to replace Clint Barmes as their starting shortstop after his tough 2006 season, so they gave their #1 prospect according to Baseball America a shot to compete for the starting job.  Troy Tulowitzki outplayed Barmes and earned the starting job.  He had a tough start, but he seems to be settling into the job.  In 45 games this season, Tulowitzki is 45 for 171 (.263 avg, .708 OPS) with 24 runs scored, 2 homers and 20 RBIs.  The Rockies hope Tulowitzki keeps up the good work.

Brian Fuentes has been lights out so far for the Rockies this season

Blogged under Front Page, Throwing Well, Bloglockers by chinmusic on Wednesday 23 May 2007 at 10:11 pm

Brian Fuentes has been awesome so far this season as he’s not intimidated by Coors Field.  In 22 games this season, Fuentes is 0-0 with 12 saves, a 2.53 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP.  Fuentes has thrown 21.1 innings this season and he’s only allowed 11 hits while striking out 14 batters and only walking 5.  Fuentes is one of the best closers in baseball that no one really knows too much about…..except Rockies’ fans.

Taylor Buchholz has been pathetic so far for the Colorado Rockies

Blogged under Front Page, Pitching BP, Bloglockers by chinmusic on Wednesday 23 May 2007 at 10:00 pm

Buchholz was part of the off-season haul for Jason Jennings, but he’s off to a rough start.  In 10 games (5 starts), Buchholz is 2-2 with a 5.94 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP.  In 33.1 innings, he has allowed 45 hits but he’s only walked 10 batters which is pretty good.  The Rockies need him to pitch better soon or they might need to go with someone else in the rotation.
