The Rockies have signed 33-year old lefty starter/reliever Damian Moss to a minor league deal. Moss pitched in 59 games (4 starts) in AAA-ball last season and he was 8-3 with a 3.30 ERA and a 1.76 WHIP. Moss last pitched in the majors in 2004 with the Rays. He has pitched in 74 games (61 starts) in his major league career and he is 22-19 with a 4.50 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP. Moss has good enough stuff to pitch in the majors as he has only given up 340 hits in 361 2/3 innings in the show but he has walked 195 batters which is the biggest reason he is back pitching in AAA.

The Rockies have signed 32-year old righty swinging C/3B/OF Robby Hammock to a minor league deal. He played in 82 games in AAA-ball last season and he was 58 for 278 (.209 avg, .592 OPS) with 28 runs scored, 4 homers and 26 RBIs. Hammock last played in the majors in 2008 with the D-Backs. He has played in 180 games in the majors and he is 122 for 479 (.255 avg, .722 OPS) with 62 runs scored, 12 homers, 48 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. He will likely start the year in AAA and get a call if the need arises for the Rockies.
