Ayala has pitched in 33 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball this year and he is 2-9 with 4 saves, a 6.43 ERA and a 1.69 WHIP. He has pitched in 377 games in his major league career and he is 29-39 with 18 saves, a 3.67 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. This was a very nice low risk signing for the Rockies as Ayala could help them down the stretch as he has had some success in his major league career.
